Valium
Valium is used for treating anxiety disorders and as an aid for short-term relief of the anxiety symptoms. It belongs to a class of drugs called benzodiazepines. This medicine is also used to relieve the symptoms of acute alcohol withdrawal, as a muscle relaxant, to relieve uncontrolled muscle movements caused by cerebral palsy and paralysis of the lower body and limbs, to control athetosis (involuntary movement of the hands), and, along with other drugs, to treat epilepsy.
If you are allergic or sensitive to Valium or any of its components, you should not take this drug. Do not take Valium if you have been diagnosed with the eye condition known as acute narrow-angle glaucoma. Such a powerful medication like Valium is not required for treating everyday anxiety or tension related to stress. On the other hand it shouldn’t be used in cases if mental disorders stronger than anxiety. Consult with your doctor on the symptoms and see if you really need to take Valium.
